Event Policies
Group Size & Supervision
Gatherings at our Norris farm are intentionally small and personal. Children must be supervised by a parent or designated guardian at all times. Pony rides and horse interactions are led by a Honeycutt handler, but guardians remain responsible for their child's conduct and safety around the animals and barn.
Conduct & Facility Care
Guests are asked to respect the barn, pastures, and animals. Running, shouting, and approaching horses from behind are not permitted. Any damage to fencing, stalls, or facilities caused by a guest or their child is the financial responsibility of the guardian.
Health & Safety
For the safety of guests and horses, closed-toe shoes are required around the barn and animals. Guests with known allergies, medical conditions, or mobility concerns should notify the host in advance. Hand-washing stations are provided and should be used after any contact with the animals.
Booking & Cancellation
Events are reserved in advance and confirmed subject to availability. A deposit may be required to hold a date. Cancellations within 7 days of the event may forfeit the deposit. Final headcount and any special requests are due at least 72 hours prior to the gathering.
Equine Liability
Horses are inherently unpredictable animals. Under Tennessee law (T.C.A. § 44-20-101), an equine activity sponsor or equine professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities. Guests and guardians assume all liability for participation in equine activities at the event.
Equine Activity Liability Release, Waiver, and Assumption of Risk
IMPORTANT NOTICE: BY SUBMITTING AN EVENT INQUIRY AND ATTENDING A GATHERING AT HONEYCUTT EVENTS, YOU ARE AGREEING TO WAIVE CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO SUE FOR INJURY, DEATH, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.
This Equine Activity Liability Release, Waiver, and Assumption of Risk (the "Agreement") is entered into by and between the guest and the guardian of any participating minor (referred to as "Guest," "I," "me," or "my") and Honeycutt Events / the Property Owners (referred to as the "Host," "we," "us," or "our") regarding attendance and participation in gatherings, pony rides, and equine activities at the barn and pastures (the "Premises").
1. Statutory Tennessee Warning & Acknowledgment
Under Tennessee Code Annotated Title 44, Chapter 20, equine activity sponsors and professionals are not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities. I acknowledge that I have reviewed and understand the official statutory warning guidelines.
2. Inherent Risks of Equine Activities
I understand that no equine activity is completely risk-free. Equines can behave in unpredictable ways, especially when frightened, hurt, or startled. I acknowledge that inherent risks include but are not limited to: kicking, biting, bolting, rearing, stumbling, falling, and the unpredictability of an animal's reaction to weather, terrain, sound, movement, or unfamiliar objects.
3. Assumption of Risk and Release
I expressly assume all responsibility for any injury, death, or property damage — to myself, my child, or any third party — resulting from equine activities at the event, and release the Host from liability to the maximum extent permitted under Tennessee law. I further agree to indemnify the Host for any claims arising from the conduct of my child or my guests.
4. Guardian Responsibilities
Supervision: I am responsible for the supervision and conduct of any minor in my care at all times. Participation: Pony rides and horse interactions are led by a Honeycutt handler, but participation is voluntary and at my own risk. I accept the facilities "as-is" and assume financial responsibility for any damage caused by my child or my guests.
5. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee.
